Open to everyone aged 10 and above, at every rating level. Your Chess.com Rapid rating helps us seat you fairly.

Competes for the main podium.

Plays for Best Intermediate.

Beginner
Plays for Best Beginner. Newcomers are very welcome.
Everyone plays at least three games.
Fifteen minutes each. No one goes home after a single loss.

Arrive by 9:00. Games begin at 9:30.

Swiss rounds
Everyone plays at least three games. Winners meet winners, so every match is close.

The cut
After the Swiss rounds, the top six players go into the knockout.

Knockout
The top two seeds get byes. A drawn game goes straight to Armageddon.

Consolation Cup
Everyone else plays on for a cup of their own.

A ceremony in the evening.
The final format depends on the number of players.

Champion
Large trophy, Gold medal and certificate.

Medium trophy, Silver medal and certificate.

Clear rules, calm spaces and adults who look out for every child.
Guardian consent
Players under 18 need a guardian’s consent before their seat is confirmed. Under 13s need a guardian or named adult at the venue all day.
Kids’ Corner
For children under 10: friendly games, puzzles and a helper. Every child gets a medal.
Safe and respectful
A guardian zone, women volunteers on the team and a named safeguarding contact.

Do I need a Chess.com account?
No. Without one, we place you with a short trial game.
How do I register?
Registration opens soon, and seats are limited.
Is there prize money?
No. Awards are trophies, medals and certificates.
What should I bring?
Water, a snack and a phone charger. A chess set helps too. Phones stay silent in bags at the boards.
